Urban waste wood is increasingly being recycled to then be used for making wood-based panels, animal bedding or other applications for which the removal of metallic contaminants is important.
Italy is famous for wooden furniture which are generally made of panels produced from recycled wood as forest and virgin wood is rare in Italy.
From the experience of working closely with the Italian wood-based panel industry, SGM has developed a complete range of specific separators for removing both ferrous and nonferrous metal contaminants during the different stages of the urban waste wood recycling process, either when urban wood waste is still raw or further down the process when it has been transformed into chips and flakes before passing to the panel press.
SGM has extended its experience to many other international urban wood waste recyclers and is a technology leader in this field with a complete range of magnetic ferrous separators, eddy current separators, induction sensor based sorters and air gravity tables.
If requested, the SGM separator can be designed to meet ATEX requirements.
